iCrossing wins Best Retail for Ann Summers: Sexy Paid Search Campaign
Brighton 18th April 2011- Digital marketing agency iCrossing celebrated success last week at The Revolution Awards after picking up the award for Best Retail with their quirky Ann Summers campaign.
The campaign started when Ann Summers was looking to drive awareness of its brand online and enhance its cheekiness by using new and innovative channels. iCrossing proposed a radical solution that played on the brand’s cheekiness and attracted huge volumes of eyeballs at a relatively low cost.
This was achieved by using paid search as a brand marketing tool by bidding on high volume, topical keywords with cheeky and humorous campaigns. These included the British Airways strikes with ad copy saying “The planes may be grounded, but you can still join the mile high club!” and during the Election last year ad creative saying “Visit Ann Summers and find out why we believe in a well hung parliament’ and ‘We specialise in long, hard elections.” The campaigns were widely publicised with the Guardian commenting on the BA strike activity and the BBC writing about the election activity.

During this time the awards have celebrated excellence, effectiveness and innovation and have made a lasting impression on a dynamic industry.
