Me and my web shadow – iCrossing’s Mayfield launches personal online reputation book

LONDON, April 1, 2010 - Antony Mayfield, Senior VP, social media for digital marketing agency iCrossing, has this week released ‘Me and My Web Shadow’, a new book about personal online reputation management being published by A&C Black in the UK.

The book investigates the phenomenon of individuals’ ‘Web Shadows’, the ‘mark you make on the web, and how individuals can manage this personal online trail. 

The title aims to help readers:

  • Understand how what’s said about them on the Web can affect their job, their business and their personal life, both positively and negatively;
  • Develop a personal plan for managing their online presence and reputation;
  • Protect themselves against identity hijacking, personal attacks and cyber-bullying;
  • Create new career and business opportunities by taking part in social networks and other online communities.

Antony Mayfield is iCrossing's Senior Vice President, Social Media, leading the company's services and innovation efforts related to the social web. He joined the company in 2006, founding its content & social media teams. At iCrossing Antony has overseen major social media projects for brands including Toyota, Bank of America and Channel 4 and has published several e-books outlining the social media revolution for businesses.
