MSN seeks search grail with Indiana Jones promo
5 May 2008
Microsoft has turned to Harrison Ford in its latest bid to grab a bigger share of the UK search market.
Indiana Jones Search is a novelty search engine for the UK and Ireland that ties in with the forthcoming movie Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
Each search, powered by MSN, promises the chance of a prize – from a holiday for two to New Mexico to private film screenings, movie merchandise and mobile downloads.
Earlier this year, MSN launched a searches-win-prizes promotion called BigSnapSearch featuring comedians Dick and Dom. This now sends traffic to the Indiana Jones search, although Dick and Dom can still be glimpsed briefly before the page redirects.
"It's a bit of fun, but you might have more chance of finding The Holy Grail than picking up the holiday," noted The Loquax Blog.
