Spannerworks team set for Mount Kilimanjaro charity climb

10 July 2007

Search-led digital marketing agency Spannerworks, an iCrossing company, today announces it will be sending a team of eight employees to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in September. The climb will help raise money for the Amani Children's Home, a residential home for orphans and street children at the base of Kilimanjaro.

The event is one of many to mark Spannerworks’ 10th anniversary celebrations.

The Spannerworks’ ‘climb Kili’ team will depart on 1st September, and consists of Jonathan Stewart, Tom Morphy, Alex Asigno, and David Coats, all natural search strategists. The team also includes Tom Kingsley and Will Lockie, account managers, Doug Platts, a natural search analyst and David Hughes, a data strategist. All are part of Spannerworks’ growing team.

This is the second time a team from Spannerworks have climbed Kilimanjaro. In 2005, six team members completed the climb, raising over £10,000 towards a new, purpose-built home for Amani, thanks to corporate sponsors such as Antwords, Cotswold Outdoors and Go Travel Insurance.

This year, the team hopes to better the final figure with charitable donations from individuals and businesses alike. The trip is entirely self-funded with all monies raised going to help build a new playground, and assist with Amani’s family reunification programme. All interested parties should visit the ‘Kili climb’ website at www.thekiliclimb.co.uk to register their donation and support.

Arjo Ghosh, CEO of Spannerworks, comments: “Amani is vitally important for the street children of Tanzania, and every penny raised is spent on improving their standard of living. We would like to call on individuals and the business community to help us achieve our target of beating the £10,000 raised through the last climb.”
