Yahoo! combines advertising sales teams
25 June 2007
Leading internet company Yahoo! has announced plans to combine its search and advertising sales teams.
The new organisation will be led by David Karnstedt, who is currently senior vice-president of Yahoo!'s search sales business.
Yahoo! president Sue Decker said that integrating the company's sales teams would allow it to better serve advertisers' marketing objectives.
"This is one of many important steps we're taking to reinvigorate our display business, further build on our industry-leading position in advertising, and drive thought-leadership in the online advertising marketplace," she explained.
The changes will allow Yahoo! to offer a wide selection of advertising products to customers, along with a broad scale of search and display inventory.
Mr Karnstedt, who joined Yahoo! Search Marketing in 2001, said that the new approach should make it easier for customers to buy complete solutions.
"These moves will also enable our world class sales team to more effectively meet the needs of our advertisers - not just today but well into the future," he added.
