Yahoo! Search Assist 'to increase ad earnings'
5 October 2007
Yahoo! anticipates a greater level of earnings among advertisers on its search results.
Such is the assertion of marketing manager Michael Mattis in a Yahoo! Search Marketing blog post.
Commenting on the introduction of Yahoo! Search Assist, he asserts that it is now easier than ever for advertisers to gain a positive response from users of the service.
The technology automatically suggests expanded search terms which Mr Mattis claims could mean a wider variety of advertisements served to the browser.
He predicts that this could mean relevant commercials are shown to individuals who have "only a partial idea" of the words they would usually have to enter in order to yield those results.
"At Yahoo! we're all about the 'getting to yes' thing," he explains.
"Here at Search Marketing, we try our level best to help our advertisers get their prospects to yes every day."
Yahoo! reveals that Search Marketing accounts are to be inaccessible for up to 12 hours from 16:00 BST on Saturday, October 6th due to administrative work.
