User Experience Consultant

iCrossing is looking for a User Experience Consultant.

If you are someone who enjoys working with users, clients and a whole variety of in-house talent including those from the strategy, content, design, social media, natural search, paid search, display, project/account management and last but by no means least, our  technical teams, then get in touch. You'll be learning as much about what they do and how it impacts your work as they will from you.You may find yourself focussed on a global internal project one week, to an exciting innovative brand the next. You see, that's the beauty of it..its varied, collaborative, educational, supportive and above all, fun.  

 What we're looking for:

  • Someone who hates bad web experiences and can tell you a hundred ways to make them better
  • You are familiar with all the best user experience research methods, and know which one is best for any given situation (hint: this includes expert reviews, stakeholder interviews, survey creation and analysis, ethnographic research, usability studies, prototyping, web analytics, etc)
  • You are highly confident with clients, put their interests at the heart of things, but know when it's right to persuade them to do things differently
  • You can get people excited about user experience and make people understand why this work is essential
  • You keep up with research, hang out with designers, and are happiest when collaborating on a large projects

 You will be asked to:

  • Conduct expert website reviews, following structured methodologies based on solid user experience research
  • Build wireframes and clickable prototypes for websites and occasionally mobile devices and tablets
  • Develop information architecture and taxonomies, based on solid research that you design and conduct
  • Develop personas, also based on real research with real customers
  • Conduct usability testing sessions and focus groups – with real customers, not just your co-workers
  • Work closely with strategists, designers, developers, content, search and social media experts
  • Analyse web analytics usage

 You will have:

  • Commercial experience in the digital space
  • A background in UX (obviously) - but we like people with diverse experience too
  • A good story or two about working with clients on their UX projects
  • Knowledge of the appropriate tools: Axure, Visio, Omnigraffle, Morae, Powerpoint, Excel, Word, Google Analytics
  • A degree in something relevant
  • An independent streak, and a demonstrable history of meeting deadlines
